The idea behind Get a Life was born in 2003, from an interview to Spanish graphic artist Chumy Chumez* who, aware of the fact that he was going to die from liver cancer, decided that the interview had to be conducted in a graveyard.
Agreeing with the opinion of Chumy Chumez regarding the fact that dying is a natural thing, what you have to deal with and not such a big deal**, while I was watching the interview I thought about absurd conversations, a bit on the dumb side, between two tombstones, without going into the zombie or horror themes, far from grim, dark atmospheres (although the action takes place at night)***.
The name Get a Life is a homage to the TV Series by Chris Elliot Get a Life, for its absurd humor, reflection of the one I had in mind, and the fact that the expression “Get a life” was so out of place between two tombstones.
* After so many years I realize I may be wrong: if so, I’ll correct this reference
** Fine, some ways of dying such, but we all should assume the fact that we’re going to die
*** Although I’ve always dressed in dark clothes, I’m not a Goth or anything like that (in fact, if I have to pick a favorite color, I choose orange).
